Koha

Das Bibliothekssystem Koha wird seit 1999 als Open Source-Software durch die Koha Community entwickelt. Es wird weltweit von rund 15'000 Installationen ausgegangen. Das moderne webbasierte System verwendet als Grundlagen auch selber durchgehend Open Source-Komponenten: Betriebssystem Linux (vorzugsweise Debian oder Ubuntu) Datenbanksystem MySQL Indexierung Zebra Webserver Apache HTTP Server Programmiersprachen SQL, XHTML, CSS, Perl, Javascript

Zum Herstellen von Verbindungen werden die Standardprotokolle HTTP, Z39.50 / SRU, LDAP, SIP / NCIP und SIP2 (zum Einsatz mit RFID) verwendet. Als Datenformate werden MARC 21 und UNIMARC unterstützt, als Zeichencode kommt Unicode (UTF-8) zum Einsatz.
